Surakarta, Indonesia — June 19, 2026. The Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), held the Visiting Lecture 2026 on Friday, June 19, 2026. The academic session featured Shanty Savitri, S.Si., M.Pd. from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Palangka Raya, who delivered a lecture on “Peatland Ecosystems.”

The activity was held from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Room 304, Building D, FKIP UNS, providing participants with an opportunity to broaden their understanding of one of Indonesia’s important and ecologically sensitive ecosystems.

Understanding the Importance of Peatland Ecosystems

During the lecture, participants explored the characteristics and ecological significance of peatland ecosystems, particularly their role in supporting biodiversity and maintaining environmental balance.
