The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade provides a number of scholarships each year for Indonesian citizens to undertake postgraduate studies at New Zealand Universities. The NZ-AS Awards seek to make a substantial contribution to ASEAN’s development by providing opportunities for postgraduate study (i.e Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s degree and doctorate/PhD) in New Zealand. The New Zealand-ASEAN Scholars Awards (NZ-AS) are part of the New Zealand’s official development assistance to the ASEAN region.

Since last year, the number of scholarship places allocated for Indonesia has been increased from 15 to 50. Because of this significant increase in the number of awards, the New Zealand Embassy has contructed PT Austraining Nusantara (PTAN) to assist with the NZ-AS Programme, including promoting the scholarships and managing the selection process.

As the deadline for applications for this year’s intake is fast approaching (11th April 2012), we would be most grateful if you could assist by advertising the NZ-AS Programme within your university, through posting information on noticeboards, websites, and email lists. We have attached hard copies of the brochure and poster by mail for circulation to those who might be interested and who might qualify for consideration for a scholarship, and we will also send you shortly soft copies of information related to the NZ-AS programme.

Thank you in advance for your assistance in disseminating this information. If you have any questions related to the NZ-AS Programme, please do not hesitate to contact us either by email, or by calling Marta or Okta at PTAN – at (021) 52920810 or nzas.info@cbn.net.id
