Surakarta — The Clovéra team, consisting of students from Universitas Sebelas Maret, organized a product introduction socialization program along with an ecoprint training session on Sunday (2/11/2025) at TPA Qurrota’Ayun, Namira Ceplukan Mosque. The event was attended by students and teachers alike, with the goal of providing education on eco-friendly products and fostering nature-based creative skills from an early age. This program is part of a community empowerment effort through an educational approach that emphasizes the importance of sustainability and the wise use of natural resources. In its execution, Clovéra adopted an interactive and applied learning method, ensuring that participants not only understood the concepts but were also able to practice them directly.

The event began with an opening session, followed by a socialization introducing Clovéra’s eco-friendly products. In the core session, participants were introduced to the ecoprint technique — a method of dyeing fabric using the natural shapes and pigments of leaves and flowers. The material was delivered in a simple and communicative manner, accompanied by live demonstrations to facilitate participants’ understanding. Participants then took part in hands-on ecoprint practice using the pounding technique on tote bags. They were guided to select leaves, arrange patterns on the surface of the tote bag, and pound the leaves until their natural pigments transferred and formed distinctive motifs. This process provided a direct, hands-on experience in transforming natural materials into aesthetically valuable products.

Enthusiasm was evident throughout the event. The students actively experimented with various leaf combinations and pounding techniques to produce diverse motifs. They also demonstrated a high level of curiosity, asking questions about the techniques and results of the ecoprint process. The interaction between the Clovéra team and participants created a learning atmosphere that was enjoyable, participatory, and inspiring.

Sajidah Laili, the supervisor of TPA Qurrota’Ayun, expressed her appreciation for the event. “This activity not only gave the children a new, creative, and enjoyable experience, but also instilled environmental awareness through the use of natural materials around us. We hope that the knowledge and skills shared will become valuable provisions for the children and bring blessings to us all,” she said.

The finished ecoprint designs on the tote bags displayed a wide variety of unique motifs, reflecting each individual’s creativity. This event not only provided a new experience but also broadened participants’ perspectives on how natural materials found in their surroundings can be transformed into products that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional. The event concluded with a games session and a group documentation activity. Through this program, Clovéra hopes to continue contributing to creative, environmentally-based education for the community, and participants are encouraged to apply and develop these skills in their daily lives — both as a form of creative expression and as a potential productive activity in the future.
