Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, through the MBKM 853 Grant Team in project activities in the village, presents the latest technology in the field of agriculture in the form of hydroponic vertical garden to be able to improve the economy of the people of Kampung Sayur in RW 37 Mojosongo. Hydroponic vertical gardens are the latest solution in agriculture. This system allows plants to grow optimally in limited spaces by utilizing nutrients provided through water without using soil. This is not only efficient in land use but also environmentally friendly because it reduces the use of water and pesticides.

“The vertical garden hydroponic system allows anyone to grow vegetables at home. This is a step towards food independence and meeting the needs of quality vegetables,” said Della Ayrrizha Putri, head of the MBKM 853 UNS grant team.

This system is also designed with ease of installation and maintenance, so anyone can operate it without needing special expertise in agriculture. Through this project, the MBKM 853 UNS grant team provides training and mentoring directly to the local community.

In addition, the MBKM 853 UNS grant team also facilitated a set of vertical hydroponic garden sets and has installed 10 units of vertical garden hydroponic sets by planting kale, spinach, and bok choy vegetables in the greenhouse RT 02 Kampung Sayur Mojosongo.

“Here, vegetables have been planted hydroponically, but in a horizontal form and need a lot of land,” said one of the residents.

The MBKM 853 UNS grant team also held vegetable packaging training for the PKK RW 37 group, which aims to increase marketability in the market and increase creativity, as well as provide knowledge about the importance of informative and creative product labels to highlight products.”We hope that with this training, we can improve the quality of products with attractive and hygienic packaging so as to increase the selling value of vegetables,” said Della Ayrrizha Putri, head of the MBKM 853 UNS grant team.

The MBKM 853 UNS grant team also provides digital marketing strategy training through an online platform. The material covers various aspects of digital marketing, ranging from the basics of online marketing strategies for using social media and creating interesting content. The participants were also taught how to create and manage an online store on e-commerce platforms such as Shopee. This training aims to empower people with digital marketing knowledge and skills to increase their competitiveness and market reach in the digital era.

“In this digital era, the use of information and communication technology is very important. Through this training, we hope that the community can take advantage of digital marketing to increase turnover and expand their market,” said Della Ayrrizha Putri, head of the MBKM 853 UNS grant team.
