The main task of the Biology Education Study Program is to prepare education staff in the field of biology who are reliable, independent, and able to survive in the global social transformation arena. Studying biology means preparing yourself to face natural phenomena that are constantly changing.
The Bachelor of Biology Education Study Program (BBE) has a high adaptation to the development of science. This is proven by routinely reconstructing a dynamic curriculum that can always be repaired, renewed, and updated according to the dynamics of needs and changing times. Our product is educators who are responsive and ready to face the challenges of their time without being uprooted from their nation’s cultural roots. Currently, BBE implements the OBE-based KPT MBKM 2020 curriculum and refers to KKNI, SN-Dikti, the agreement of the Indonesian Biology Consortium (KOBI), and the Consortium of Indonesian Biology Education Study Programs (KPBI), as well as input from stakeholders captured through questionnaires and tracer studies, UNS Rector Regulation No. 31 of 2020, and 13 subject-specific criteria for life sciences.
We are making continuous efforts to improve the quality of education through various activities, including an internal quality audit (AMI) every semester and an external quality audit by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). Since 2012, BBE has implemented ISO 9001 to ensure the quality of learning and meet UNS Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) quality standards. In 2022, the BBE Undergraduate Study Program obtained an international accreditation from ASIIN, and in 2024, it obtained a UNGGUL rating from LAMDIK.
Becoming part of BBE means preparing to become adaptive future educators, true learners who are skilled, flexible, and tenacious (agile learners).
