Students of the 2023 cohort completed their Ecology Field Study on 5โ6 November 2025 in Purwosari, Kulon Progo, DIY. The two-day activity focused on conducting bird population censuses and vegetation density surveys, carried out directly within forest and village ecosystems.
Throughout the fieldwork, students trekked long distances and navigated challenging terrain, gaining firsthand experience in real ecological observation. Many described the KKL as both demanding and exciting, offering lessons that no classroom could replace.
โIt was tough, but incredibly rewarding. We truly learned from the field,โ one participant shared.
Students were hosted by local residents across around 40 houses, each accommodating 2โ3 participants, creating a strong sense of community during the program.
