📚 International Workshop 📚
The international workshop titled “Enhancing Environmental Awareness with Simriver: Visualizing Human Impacts on River Water Quality Through Diatoms” was organized by the STEAM Center, Faculty of Teacher and Training Education (FKIP), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS). The keynote speaker for this workshop was Prof. Dr. Shigeki Mayama from the Department of Biology, Tokyo Gakugei University, Japan. The event was held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Auditorium, 2nd Floor, Building A, Faculty of Teacher and Training Education, UNS.
This workshop served as an international academic forum that brought together students, lecturers, and researchers to broaden their knowledge on the impacts of human activities on river water quality.
Through the Simriver platform, participants were guided to understand how river ecosystems respond to environmental changes triggered by human activities. This approach is expected to foster greater environmental awareness while also providing practical insights that can be applied in both teaching and research.
The event was also part of Faculty of Teacher and Training Education UNS efforts to strengthen international academic networks and contribute to improving the quality of education and research in the field of environmental studies.
